A very brief thought for a very cold morning

My driveway is full of snow, and it’s very cold outside. So I need to get an early start to work. This is very brief today.

The verse is 2 Thessalonians 1:3

3 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.

I know that I get discouraged a lot sometimes, for various reasons. When that happens, the best thing for me to do is to go hang out with someone who is an encourager. Someone who cheers me up and who is constantly joyful.

It’s funny, though, because those people are usually the ones who are going through difficult trials themselves.

This verse makes me think of all the people in my life who I am thankful for, the people who cheer me up when I’m downhearted, the people who make me laugh when I don’t even want to smile. I’m thankful for the friends that I have becuase life would be much harder without them.

If you don’t have encouragers in your life, find some. Trust me. You need them.

There. That’s it. Told you I’d be brief this morning.

Now I’m going to go get stuck in a snow drift.
